Make 2019 the year you join the ALIA Queensland Group Committee!

ALIA QLD is looking for enthusiastic new people to join our organising committee.

ALIA QLD is a cross-sectoral, state based group seeking to provide opportunities for ALIA members and non-members to participate in networking and professional development activities. The group aims to be representative of all ALIA members in Queensland.

We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our team,  in particular a Social Media Coordinator, General member and a Secretary. Each role plays a critical role in organising annual ALIA QLD events and activities. Find out more about the roles below!

The Social Media Coordinator role responsibilities include:

• Coordinate, maintain and actively increase engagement of our social media channels including Twitter, Facebook and our blog.
• Create, manage and moderate content and access in accordance with ALIA Social Media Guidelines.
• Respond to queries received via channels in a timely manner.
• Promote ALIA QLD events and activities and encourage attendees to share their experiences on social media channels.
• Support and advocate events and activities of other ALIA groups and GLAM institutions that align with ALIA QLD’s values.
• Help plan and organise regular events and other activities targeted to our network including attending events to assist with social media duties.
• Provide a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment for the LIS community.
• Attend regular meetings, either face-to-face or online.

The Secretary role responsibilities include:

• Responsible for overall communication on behalf of the ALIA QLD Committee.
• Receive and respond to correspondence in particular via the ALIA QLD email box.
• Manage and moderate the ALIA QLD elist.
• Ensure committee meetings are properly managed – schedule meetings, prepare agendas, organise minute taker and disseminate minutes to the group.
• Manage records and documents for the Committee.
• Update list of ALIA QLD Committee members and contact details.
• Provide support to Convenor when recruiting for new committee members.
• Help plan and organise regular events and other activities targeted to our network including attending events.
• Provide a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment for the LIS community.
• Assist in the promotion of ALIA QLD events and activities.
• Attend regular meetings.

You can also join as a general member and support the committee in your own special way to run different events and activities during the year.

The General committee member responsibilities include:

• Help plan and organise regular events and other activities targeted to our network including attending events.
• Provide a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment for the LIS community.
• Assist in the promotion of ALIA QLD events and activities.
• Attend regular meetings.

Note: These are volunteer roles, and you need to be a current ALIA member (personal or student membership).
