IFLA Summit 2024: Stronger Together

by | Dec 2, 2024 | Uncategorized

Ashleigh Lowry, ALIA QLD Secretary, served as a volunteer at the IFLA Summit in Brisbane. She writes:

The IFLA Futures Summit was an amazing event where I got to talk and connect with Librarians and Library staff from all over the world. I was able to discuss current and future issues, trends and events that were affecting the information services world. Being able also to volunteer at the event gave me another level of appreciation for the organisers of events such as this, as I was able to see all the hard work and dedication that it takes to organise something of this scale and have to go forth with minimal issues. My highlight from the entire event was all the new colleagues and friends that I was able to make and I can’t wait to talk with again. The IFLA Futures Summit provided me with a wealth of experience, knowledge and memories that make me excited and encouraged to stride boldly into my future to hopefully make a difference and build a better future for all of the GLAM sector the future.

Ashleigh has shared some photos from her amazing experience.
